 Biscuitville’s Burney Jennings Is Elected 2023 Board Chair of the North Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association  

GREENSBORO, N.C. (2023) — Biscuitville Fresh Southern® is honored that the members of the North Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association have elected Biscuitville’s own Burney Jennings as chair of the NCRLA for 2023.  

Mr. Jennings has served on the NCRLA Board since 2017 and is Executive Chair of Biscuitville. During his tenure with Biscuitville, which includes more than two decades as former CEO, he has overseen the transition of the company’s branding to “Fresh Southern,” which highlights Biscuitville’s commitment to sourcing ingredients from other family-owned and/or local suppliers. Biscuitville currently operates 70 restaurants in North Carolina and Virginia and will move into South Carolina in 2023.  All Biscuitville locations are operated by the Greensboro-based company; there are no franchises.  

“We are fortunate to have such strong, strategic business and community leaders to serve on the NCRLA Board,” said NCRLA President and CEO Lynn Minges. “Burney’s leadership will be enormously important as the hospitality industry deals with the challenges left behind by the pandemic.”  

Mr. Jennings is a graduate of Elon University and has served on the university’s Board of Trustees since 2000. He received Elon’s Young Alumnus of the Year Award in 1997, and in 2016 was recognized as one of the Triad’s Most Admired CEOs by The Triad Business Journal.
